On Saturday, September 27, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Meals on Wheels North Jersey will host the Empty Bowls Project, a heartfelt community event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to combat hunger and isolation among seniors. The event will take place at Christ Lutheran Church in Woodcliff Lake.
The Empty Bowls Project is part of an international grassroots movement personalized by artists and art organizations to address food insecurity. Local artists and groups donate handcrafted bowls, which guests select and keep as a lasting reminder of the many empty bowls in the world.
Attendees will enjoy a simple meal of soup, served in their chosen bowl along with bread, dessert and coffee, in exchange for a $30 donation. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Meals on Wheels North Jersey, supporting their mission to provide nutritious meals and companionship to vulnerable seniors in the region.
“This event is a beautiful blend of art, community, and compassion,” said Meals on Wheels Executive Director, Janelle Larghi. “Each bowl tells a story, and each donation helps feed homebound seniors in our community.”
